Just catching up

Hello!!! It has been almost a whole month since I have last written an entry here.I can say that a lot of events have taken place on that span of time.
Well, I guess I should start with something that I am very proud of. The Korean Speech Competition was held last Dec. 7, 2005 at the Palma HAll AVR. Of course, knowing myself, I surely would not let such an opportunity to pass me by. So I decided to join with the hope that after several days of practice, I would be able to present a clear and interesting speech in Korean. My piece was very personal, Jong Sonsengnim, told me that she knows that it really did came from my heart. Plus the fact that she could see a lot of passion in my eyes. That was the first time someone complimented me that way. I am very grateful to my two sonsengnim. Dec. 7 was such a big ang long day for me. I had to attend my Poyer Yoga class at 7 am, then take an exam in Eng 22 and finally muster enough courage and confidence to deliver my speech in front of a big crowd. And yes! I was able to deliver my speech properly. My language proficiency is okay, I spoke quite fast, thinking that Koreans speak that way. I don't want to brag, but I did speak with an accent, although sometimes, I sounded mad, (thanks to the Korean movies that I had watched,,,the casts are always angry with someone!)Anyways, I got the 2nd place, and I am very happy because of that. I couldn't have done it without the support of Jong Sonsengnim, Racel Sonsengnim, and my ban chingu/ classemates in KOrean 10, 11 & 12. Kamsahamnida!
After the speech, there was a small gathering just to celebrate the success of the competition as a whole. They prepared a buffet of Korean dishes and If I should say, I enjoyed some of them, especially the Mandu or dumplings and the ttok or ricecakes. Btw, my classmates asked my Korean teacher to introduce me to one of the Korean exchange students. HIs name is Pak Jong Sub. (Brian is his English name). He's currently taking up mass comm in UP. He's cute...but that's just about it.

Dec. 14
Francis, a friend of mine, told me about his new job in a Language Center. I decided to check it out..and I had such a great time talking with the Korean kids! They simply can't believe that a Filipino could speak (somehow) in Korean. Because I enjoyed the company of the kids, I decided to work there during the Christams break...So that would mean there would be no x-mas vacation for me!!! But its okay, I know it would be a great experience! Aja!

Dec. 15. 12 pm.
The Oblation run was held....I was able to see it twice already. But just like the first time, the naked men, didn't even had an ample effect on me. I think they need to lift some weights once in a while..I mean...wouldn't it be better if the CHK majors would be the one to run naked...at least that would be a celebration of the beautiful form of mankind. I hope no APO member would ever get the chance to read this..but hey! why don't your brotherhood consider my advice....it would make your fraternity even prouder than you already are...

Dec. 15. 4:30 pm.
Jay and I were late for the assembly of Lantern Parade participants., Thanks to the very informative lecture of Mr. N.S.S. who actually top the bar last year at no. 9. He's a very intelligent person, to the point that he could tire you out just by speaking infront of you.. Oh well, he made me believe that I should be preparing myself more if I want to surpass the pressures of studying law. Anyways, I do appreciate his generosity that he actually took the time to share his knowledge about the history of England.
So, there...we arrived late as I have said before, but good enough that we were able to sign the attendance. Joining the Lantern parade was actually fun. Sometimes we did feel embarassed , but I guess that's normal. My mask, or heardress was similar to that of a flower girl, minus the hanging leaves at the side, which made it passed for a headress either of a fairy or Mother nature.
The fireworks display was fantastic and breath-taking. Hahaha...I guess they had a big budget for it.
That night, I was very tired, but nevertheless happy.

Christmas part of ISSI.
The food was great.
I never knew how the bosses of ISSI could be so generous to give out A LOT of appliances, kitchenwares, etc. to other employees.

today, I'll go to SM to buy my "pamasko", the outfit that I would be wearing on Christmas eve. It's a tradition, you know....lol ^:^
