A taste of the "real" world

While riding in a ever- reliable IKOT jeep to go to ISSI, a friend of mine asked me why do I need to work? Is it required? huh.. actually, I never fail to came up with answers that would make working look like its so much fun. (or in times of exhaustion, make it look so difficult that I could derive pride for actually subjecting myself into it.) But right this very moment, she has actually left me in deep thought.
Why do I work while studying in a university that challenges (or torture) students with high academic pressure? Why am I making things tougher that it should be? You might think I'm nuts asking myself these questions while in fact, working has been a part of my life eversince I was in 3rd year highschool, though I used to work only every summer in highschool.
To answer the questions that I have imposed on myself, I work because 1. I like earning my own money. (I don't ask for money from my parents just to buy clothes, cellphone, etc.) 2. I am no longer used to long vacations so I easily get bored at home. (a sign that I might be a workaholic in the near future). 3. I don't eat a lot at work. (really, this is one of the major reasons why I always have a summer job!) 4. I AM LEARNING A LOT FROM MY WORKING EXPERIENCES, things that a fresh college graduate may not know, I would like to believe that I have enough knowledge of it already.
5. IT gives me a sense of identity. Jesy..always the working girl, the student assistant since who knows when.
So, even if I AM VERY BUSY RIGHT NOW, I still feel that working while studying is worth giving a try.
